Grading Categories: Summative - 90% of Grade - Weekly Math Review (WMR) - Unit Test and Quizzes - Students are given retake opportunities for all summative assignments, per MNPS policy. Homework - 10% of Grade - iReady - Classroom Assignments - Extra practice/HW - Students are NOT given retake opportunities for homework assignments. Formative - 0% of Grade - Diagnostic test - Classroom assignments - Review games: Kahoot, GimKit, Blooket, etc. LiveSchool Points are given for homework and formative assessments as well. Weekly Math Review- Students receive WMR paper on Monday - Students are given 5-10 minutes at the beginning of each class to work on their WMR. - There are challenge puzzles on the back for early finishers. Correct puzzle solutions are awarded Live School points. - On Thursdays, students submit their answers to Schoology. - On Fridays, Mrs. Boorsma goes through the most commonly missed questions with all students. - Students are then given until the following Friday to go back and retake the WMR. Retake RequirementsRetakes are offered on summative assignments only.
WMR: Students are given 2 attempts and no paperwork is required for retaking. Unit Test: Students MUST submit test corrections before given the opportunity to retake. Students will receive the grade on the retake - for better or worse, per MNPS policy.
iReady- All students are required to complete the iReady diagnostic. "i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment designed to provide teachers with actionable insight into student needs. The Diagnostic offers a complete picture of student performance and growth, eliminating the need for multiple, redundant tests. Diagnostic results also set a personalized learning path for each student, ensuring they’re working on instruction that matches their unique learning needs." - Students that tested below grade level, will work through their iReady Pathway lessons during Navigator time; in addition to teacher led intervention lessons. - Students testing at or above grade level, will complete an iReady Pathway lesson during Navigator time; in addition to teacher led enrichment lessons. - ALL students will be required to complete one iReady pathway lesson each week. This should be completed during Navigator. Schoology- Parent log-ins are the same as last year. If you are having trouble accessing the parent portal, please contact your child's homeroom teacher. - All handouts and Powerpoint slides will be posted on Schoology. - WMR will be submitted to Schoology weekly. Students will also submit their 2nd attempt via Schoology if needed. - Occasional assignments will be submitted via Schoology. - All grades will be logged via Schoology, however overall course averages will only be found on Infinite Campus. |
Regular Schedule7:30 - 7:45 - Students are allowed in the building. Report to gym or cafeteria, if eating breakfast. 7:45 - 8:00 - Students report to Block 1. *This is not a time to roam the halls. Students should get items from locker, use the restroom, and report to their first block class. 8:00 - 9:15 - Block 1 9:20 - 9:55 - Navigator Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - Friday - *Students will switch to block 2 at the end of Navigator. 10:00 - 10:20 - Recess *Students will bring lunch boxes out with them to recess. 10:20 - 10:50 - Lunch *This is a very early lunch time, so students are welcome to bring an afternoon snack to have later in the day. 10:55 - 12:10 - Block 2 *Students switch to Block 3 prior to Related Studies 12:15 - 12:55 - Related Studies A 1:00 - 1:40 - Related Studies B 1:45 - 3:00 - Block 3 |
